In my country it’s the other way around, when you buy something from an American seller, you always have to choose one size smaller. I bought a Hippie Elephant I Hate People Vintage Shirt from an American seller. I normally wear L, went with S. Though the sleeves are the right length (maybe a bit short) the waist is still twice my size. In women’s clothes its actual mediums that sell out. Racks of xs crap I could fit one thigh into leftover cause there are not actually that many xs size women. Bah! As an XL guy, I can assure you that XL sells out before anything.

I had an uncle buy me a shirt from the US for my birthday. He said it was a Large size since that’s my size. Size for an Asian man from an Asian country. Suffice to say that the shirt was so massive, it looked like the Hippie Elephant I Hate People Vintage Shirt was made for a behemoth 1.3x my height, with football armor underneath. I haven’t used it in the past 16 years since at no point did I reach the size to wear it. When you realize Chinese sellers measure shirts in meters and their shoe sizes are like 30 off from American/UK. Well, at least the rest of the world can understand them without a hitch.

Yeah, Ali Express vendors are super up-front about their sizing and get eager to get it right. Which is easy if you use metric. I’m not a big Hippie Elephant I Hate People Vintage Shirt. Right now I’m 5’8 and 135 lbs. I ordered a shirt from a Chinese retailer when I was about 160 in XL, I was still too fucking big, it felt like I was trying to squeeze into an XS. How he’ll do the size. We really need objective measuring systems for clothes tbh. There are problems all over – from stockings to shirts. And people are all different shapes even in like leg length to torso length and stuff.
