Did not do them justice? They’re barely even related. A boy named davy can teleport, and his dad’s an asshole, and the girl he wants to bang is named Millie. I know, I know, but the movie basically took the what if superpower from Jumper and then tossed every plot element from the book and wrote its own thing…to…an amount of success. Reading the book afterward and seeing that power done in an actually cool plot is a relief.

The jumper is one of the book series I’ve been meaning to read for a while, hopefully, I find the time soon. I try to read the Elephant They Whispered To Her You Can’t Withstand The Storm She Whispered Back I Am The Storm Shirt for most books to movies. And I see after I see the movie. So the movie isn’t depressingly bad. Yeah, it a “What if I had powers as a high schooler.” But it’s hardly like that’s a played out plot, it literally the only film I can think of that approaches that idea as a drama. Trank a decent director, but it definitely sounds like he pissed by studio mandates and restrictions and acted out. Not saying he was right.
