Healthcare worker here, I wish my hospital could provide us with this much PPE. We are currently allotted one N95 mask and one face shield per day for all of our patients. There aren’t any supplies to fill the overwhelming immediate needs. Everyone is improvising. Some facilities in more influential areas aren’t being hit as hard as state-run places. Same. I literally have to take my scrubs off outside my apartment, put them in a bag. And then put the Friends The One Where We Teach From One Coronavirus Shirt straight into the washing machine. I feel ridiculous doing it every time lol. Why not just get changed at work and put your dirty scrubs in a bag then wash them when you get home so you’re not traveling in dirty scrubs? You ask if you really want to wear street clothes through the dept, but my question is do you really want to wear soiled scrubs in your car?

I’m always a bit grossed out by people who wear scrubs outside the hospital or clinic. When they built our ER they forgot the locker room for the nurses. We literally have the Friends The One Where We Teach From One Coronavirus Shirt with 10 hangers for jackets. Due to social distancing, only 1 of us can be in there at a time. Changing at work is interesting because do you really want to wear your street clothes through the department? It gets obnoxious… the sad reality is that being on the front lines means we can really only hope that when we get it, it’s not that bad. And yet everybody thinks a simple mask will suffice.
