I couldn’t wait for the scenes with the human characters to end and while the monsters looked great. They somehow managed to make all the fight scenes incredibly boring. Everything else was….. not good. I absolutely hated the human element, basically boils down to Karen loses a son. And builds a device to talk to Kaiju managers unleashing District Manager Ghidorah.

They chose shots where they butchered emphasis, and there was one point where Sally Hawkins said Godzilla’s heart rate was “ELEVATED”. Everything else has been said in the comments. the movie was horribly executed, but loved every second of it and going to watch the next one because I’m a sucker for kaiju. It wasn’t good. I drifted in and out. The Vera Farmiga character’s motivation was so nonsensical it drove me nuts; Ken Watanabe’s quasi-religious devotion to Godzilla was also baffling.

Some decent monster fights but overall difficult to comprehend. I just hated how this movie looked. Constantly night time and raining and I struggled to even see what happened throughout most of the fighting scenes. If it wasn’t raining they had smoke and dust covering up most of the screen. Just from an Official King Of The Monsters Godzilla Strikes Back Shirt of view. I don’t understand why they did that, it looks fucking terrible. Millie Bobbie Brown was great, though. And the movie had one excellent scene: the crew watching Godzilla swimming and doing his “intimidation” display. So fantastic I wished the entire movie was as great as that scene. I respectfully disagree with your opinion. Kota was far more enjoyable than G14 to me.
