It’s that the way she phrased that specific statement implied Original Kraken Released 2021 T-Shirt that trans people think they’re exactly the same as cis people, which is kind of a straw man argument and contributes to the idea that trans people are delusional, unreasonable, and crazy. Never actually read Rowling’s take on it, I always just thought reflexively her social commentary was dumb. Tbh here she makes a really compelling argument. I’m not surprised you thought that. Many people accused her of a million things and spread the message that she’s a hateful bigot while discouraging others from reading directly from the source. The truth is, the vast, vast majority of people agree with her. Some trans people who haven’t transitioned, still look like men, and Some women who have had really bad experiences with men are traumatized(Rape, Harassment) so that argument is understandable in a way(?) but I get what you meant, it is in fact transphobic.
