The Nice Chewbacca Solo 20 Let The Wookiee Win Shirt dude has watched the Skywalkers fuck up so much for literal decades and he still hangs out with them. A true hero. At least they try to hang out with him on occasion and celebrate Life Day. There’s some effort there. He had to have at least been aware of who Anakin was. Anakin was a huge general and war hero, and we know Chewie knew both Ashoka and Yoda so he was probably mentioned at least in passing at some point. Chewie is my favorite Star Wars character. I’m so glad he survives throughout all the movies or even is present through all three eras for that matter.

Expanded universe. One thing I’m ok with being removed from the Nice Chewbacca Solo 20 Let The Wookiee Win Shirt storyline. Chewie didn’t deserve a hopeless death like that. Me too. The Vong storyline turned me off the old EU so bad and that was the last straw. I had every book before that. I quit reading them until the new canon came out. I personally think he should have died in 9. It was the perfect scene and would have made a grey character more developed. I disagree and that’s okay. I honestly would’ve hated episode 9 if Chewbacca had died.

Didn’t seem forced or out of place it felt natural. But it would basically be like killing luke. Poor guy has endured so much. Glad he and Lando made it through it all. And Wedge! That guy holds a record for the number of climactic battles survived. Every time I think about it manages to infuriate me more.
