HP inkjet with the liquid ink has been pretty good so far for me. Been using it casually for school every couple of weeks since halfway through last year and I’m yet to buy a bottle of ink that didn’t come with the printer, would definitely recommend but you do still get printer problems like the Official Crazy Turtle Aholic Shirt just not wanting to print. Not the bottled ink which is why I like it, doesn’t dry up, had mine for a year and a half and they’re still perfectly fine and about half full. I agree most of their regular printers are pretty shit and their cartridges are pretty shitty to but I’ve had no complaints with this one.

No of course not. Some of them just expire and say they need replacing whether they’re full or not. It’s a hardcoded time thing. Maybe they’ve changed this recently but I don’t think so. Regardless of what you believe, do you really have a way to override their constantly-updating firmware? Does that refuse to use expired ink cartridges? The fact that you have to trick an Official Crazy Turtle Aholic Shirt into accepting ink speaks volumes. It could be the fact that it won’t let you print if it can’t print the Machine Identification Codes which people like the police can use to figure out.
