By the time they got to the final race most of the audience (myself included) had already put Turbo on the back burner.  It’s a completely different movie on the second view as well. Marla Singer is bat shit crazy on the first view and actually comparatively well adjusted on the second. His relationship with every character is completely different from what you first thought. This movie is in my top five of I’m Not Sick I’m Twisted Sick Makes It Sound Like There’s A Cure Shirt all time. I went in expecting a moronic movie about dudes beating on each other and found this nihilist masterpiece.

Here for this! I’ve seen other shows and movies try to pull off a similar twist but back when this movie came out there was no way you would have expected that twist. Jason was given a lot of the foreshadowing, like when he proclaims, “That’s racist! Heaven is so racist!” and then says he thinks they’re all in a prank show. The fact that Chidi ALWAYS has stomachaches even though it’s supposed to be paradise. Michael literally kicking a puppy into the sun in episode one… the I’m Not Sick I’m Twisted Sick Makes It Sound Like There’s A Cure Shirt list goes on and on. Glad that I watched till the last episode and then everything made sense.
